“You know, she’s talking about reaching the borderline and whoever this man is, he’s trying to make her orgasm and gets her right close but then isn’t able to do it… then I realized how ridiculous it is for a 40-year-old man to be singing about orgasms.”
-Wayne Coyne as quoted in Flaming Lips’ Coyne Talks State Song Flap, Singing About Orgasms for Madonna Cover by Kevin O'Donnell, www.rollingstone.com April 27, 2009

In the next few days we’ll review the year that brought us more reunions, bloggers wetting themselves over the Dirty Projectors, inescapable hits by the Black Eye Peas and Lady Gaga, The Beatles’ remasters, Embryonic, the multiple sides of Karen O., numerous unlikely chart successes (i.e. Sonic Youth’s first album not on a major label since the ‘80s is also their first to go top 20), and a weekend of the least VMA-friendly artists (from Animal Collective to the Super Furry Animals) convening at the second year of ATP NY and climaxing right as Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift elsewhere in the state got the new boss’s consideration.
Psych Explorations of the Future Heart is an interactive, multi-media publication and discussion about rock n’ roll, pop culture and The Flaming Lips.
