THE BENEVOLENT BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I be in a band. This band is called Zanois. We have an album. This album is called The Benevolent Beast. We would greatly appreciate anyone who would take the time to even listen to it, and we would even greatly-er appreciate anyone who left a comment or two about it. It's available all over them interwebs, like iTunes, Zune, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, Amazon, and all them.
Or you can just use MySpace: myspace.com/zanois
We self-recorded, released, and produced the whole thing too, so if you have any questions about that, we will gladly answer them.
Thanks a billions!!!!
Thank you very much. I can understand wanting to dismiss it. We've been playing for almost two years now, and still have a fairly miniscule fan base. So lately we've been trying to find other ways to promote, i.e. go to our favorite band's website and post links to us. Of course, a lot of the time it is immediately dismissed as spam, which I can understand. If you don't mind helping spread the word, it would be extremely appreciated! If not, that's fine, too.
As far as Chatter Teeth goes, we know what you mean. While not intentional, we spent hours trying to engineer and produce the crap out of that bass and the cymbals on all songs, but to no avail. It comes off like that on the record because our drummer's drumset consists primarily of almost shattered $5 cymbals and a 30 year old marching bass drum head.
Thanks again, very very very much!

cool, I also use to sing back when I am still a student...
Yes. If anyone who happens to like us wouldn't mind spreading the word or buying a CD or anything, we could definitely use it! And if not, that's cool, too.
Thanks!

To be honest being the jaded-jerk that I am I was ready to hate it, but I cannot! It's good, and a bit refreshing to be sincere. At least to my ears. You guys sound like you have a good grasp of 70's pop music and arrangements. It's not jammy, just concise and catchy pop music. I only listened to "Tranquility Base?," "Safire Wants Gold," and "Chatter Teeth," (I'm actually on my third listen with "Chatter Teeth"), and I like.
I do have one thing that's bugging me, and it's the drum sound, particularly on "Chatter Teeth." The kick drum sounds completely lifeless. No dynamic range. Same with the cymbals. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but there you have it.
Good job! I would buy this record.
