The Flaming Lips will spend three nights in New York City next week: Central Park on Monday, Spin 25 (set to be webcast) on Tuesday and the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday
Five Spin celebration concerts “shot in high-quality video from nine different camera angles” will stream at SPIN.com each night, from Monday, July 26, through Friday, July 30, at 8 P.M. EST.
The Flaming Lips are booked for Letterman 7/28/2010 - Season 17, Episode 327 - as is Michael Keaton
Wayne Coyne told BBC 6 Music “I’m bugging Karen O…to see if she’ll play… David Letterman with us… she says, “duly noted’”

Bridget- I've never tried but
Bridget- I've never tried but my impression from watching the show, is that people wait for a long time to get in. My suggestion is to show up early in the morning and politely ask everyone who walks in the door for tickets. Don't give up.

Also- wear something that will make you noticeable and identifiable as a Flaming Lips fan. When they see your enthusiasm and love for the band, I'm sure someone will help you out. (Possibly the Lips themselves if they see you)
thanks for the update. anyone have tips for getting into the letterman audience day-of?
i think standard procedure for the late night shows is most tickets are reserved beforehand, then a handful can be snatched up day-of. any advice greatly appreciated!
