I know I'm a newbie here and would never post a rumor that I didn't think had some validity. I have it from a close source that the Lips will be headling Forecastle Festival 2010 in Louisville. Whether that is two or three days, I'm not sure. Either way, this will be great.

i live in louisville and am somewhat involved in the local music community. long story short, about a month ago i overheard some people talking about how the lips were originally supposed to headline forecastle in 2009, but there were some problems with the booking. (i heard it was something to do with money.) I got really excited, just to know that it had been thought about. but after reading your post, i'm wandering if maybe they are going to try again. the lips have never played louisville to my knowledge. the closest they've come has been newport, ky i think, and that was over a decade ago. the past few years have been really rough for me, but things have started to get a lot better recently. and what better way to celebrate a sort of new beginning than seeing the lips outside with great people and the city skyline as a backdrop! anyhow, i know it's just a rumor, but it makes me really happy just to daydream about it.

i hope it is true.
it would certainly make my summer. i live in central ky. and the closest i remember them playing around here is when i saw them at the wrocklage (a now defunct bar in Lexington).
it was the 1st time i saw them, red red meat opened up for them on 12/18/1993. that was the last time they played ky. that i know of. i saw them play at Bogarts in cincy on 7/14/99 then again on 4/22/00. i had to check my ticket stubs for dates. i wish they would come back to our area.
